The Cycle Freedom

The Cycle Freedom events hosted by Cork Bike Hire operated daily from Sat 11th May – Sunday 19th May 2024. These events proved extremely popular providing people with the opportunity to avail of free bike hire including electric bikes from our bases next to The Green Park in Youghal, on Main Street Midleton and at The Marina Market in Cork

Individuals, couples, groups of friends and families availed of this event during the week and took in the joys of cycling and spending time in the outdoors exploring their local area
One of the highlights this year was so many people availing of the opportunity of free bike hire to cycle the newly opened first phase of the Midleton Youghal Greenway. Midleton to Mogeely is an 8km stretch which was ideal for most people getting re acquainted with cycling. Lots of positive feedback on the quality of the Greenway path itself, the wonderful landscapes and the tasty coffee stop in Mogeely. Othes took to the open roads to visit Ballycotton, Rostellan Farm and Roches Point Lighthouse.

In Cork the Greenway from the Marina to Passage West was the favourite attraction with most cycling this, taking in the spectacular views of Cork Harbour and savouring the delights of local coffee stops along the route.
